If you end up taking this class, take the time to improve your editing skills. It really pays-off, and it really separates you from the pack. We all can’t be editors, but we can all keep a job.
There is a lot of work to be done in this class, and if you are taking other media courses, you may want to give up. Don’t because you get use to it after a while. Also, you can always write extra stories to improve your score. I wish that I had of done that last year.
Being punctual was my problem this year and last year, but I managed to write a couple of extra stories this year.  I had a lot of fun, and I became a better person.

Late for production meetings

Brothers and Sisters,
Well, I’ve seemed to learn how to deal with racism. However, I am still convinced that evil prevails at Cleveland State, particularly in areas that are traditionally run by white men. During the semester, I frequently found myself being made out to be a typical loser African American male, and it seems that it is a universal ideology. I mean to say that the majority of whites like to practice it.
This semester, I found myself being late to production meetings. In spite of trying very hard, I just could not seem to arrive early enough, and I strongly believe that the problems preventing me from exercising such professional standards were fabricated. I am saying that this disassociation and ridicule I face at Cleveland State seems to follow me around in my life outside of Cleveland State.
I am more convinced than ever before that racism will be the very instrument that nearly destroys the Earth. There seems to be a hidden motif behind American racism, and the death of African American and colored people in general seems to be the only thing that really pacifies American racism.
In spite of being late several times (a typical association of African American people) and missing the opportunity to layout a couple of pages, I did manage to edit several papers. I tried to pull my weight in the class. That made me feel better, even though I still feel like I let the class down, but I am sure that my effort to edit additional papers has paid off for the entire class.
So, what is my recommendation for racism? I think racism can be countered with professionalism and dedication. In my opinion, colored people must make the effort to prove to themselves and to whites that they can do things just as well (if not better) than anybody else. Also, colored people must help one another survive in a world the seeks to eliminate them. I think this ideology is a simple patch, yet I am afraid to think what the ultimate resolution must be.
I am very glad to have met the teacher and to have the opportunity to have written an article about some of his work. I consider him a comrade in a world of hatred that his and my kind must collaborate and bring about a universal peace.

First edition problems (com 427)

My Brothers and Sisters,
The very first publication date of The Cleveland Stater, January 31, 2012, I felt the presence of true evil. I cannot contend that the instrument it was working through was fully involved, but I could feel it’s hatred towards me (emanating from the outlet). As Goundi would put it, I felt an ancient evil about the room, but I could not identify it.
To design a page for the paper, I was assigned to work with a young lady (a Caucasian girl with sandy brown hair).  Before she arrived, I worked on the page’s layout for a couple of hours. I had planned to shoot a news video that day and was asked to take pictures of the parking situation at CSU by a female student as well.  As these smaller projects became available, I left my station to attend to them.
After I shot the video, I worked on the layout of page four for a short while. Since very few people were in the room, I decided to take pictures of a line of cars waiting to enter a full parking lot at a CSU garage. When I returned, there was a male student working at the computer station I was working at.
There was an available work station right next to him, and shortly after I began working on the page again, the young lady I was assigned to work with showed-up. She was a new student (taking Com 426). I decided that the best way to teach her was to let her design the page as I observed and helped her.
After I helped her with the basics, I decided to edit a few pages. I like to keep the production flow as diligent as possible. I frequently came back to the workstation to help the student as much as possible (after all this is the way I learned when I was taking Com 426). I also explained to her that other students knew the program better than I did and that they would be willing to help her if she got stuck and I was not around.
However, while I was editing, the room became full. All of the workstations were being used, and the area where the young lady was working became very crowded. The workstation I was originally working on is located at the very end of the room, and the station the young lady and me were working at is right next to it.
In this small area, there were six students, two students working at one station to the left of me, the blond haired dude to the right of me, and two female students leaning against the wall directly behind me. As I was trying to help the young lady, the students in the immediate vicinity kept annoying the hell out of me. To make matters worse, the dude to the left of me, working with another student, kept bumping into me.
I really believe the students were trying to get me in a fight, so I decided to go and edit some papers. After I edited a few papers, the edit sign-up sheet disappeared. I edited about four or five papers, but was only able to initial about two edits.
Periodically, I would go and see how the new student was doing, and the area would become crowed again. The layout of the page was just about finished, so I left the area to edit some more papers. After the page was printed, the editor came to me and started bitching about a few errors (the lines to separate the stories was missing, one heading should have been italicized, and some other complaint).
I have always heard that CSU was racists, but that they wouldn’t let you know it until you are about to graduate.
The errors on the page layout could have been fixed by the editor in about 5 or 10 minutes, but he chose to complain to me about it. It was the last page left to edit. When he came to me and started complaining, I was editing a page. Most of the class had left the room, and I told him I would correct it after I edited the page. I finished editing the page about 5 minutes later and started to make the corrections on the computer. Before I could finish correcting the page, the layout the young lady and I was working on got lost. And the editor decided to layout the page himself, which left me with nothing to do. And wouldn’t you know it, the teacher comes in the Stater room while I am reading blogs for another class.
I worked very hard that day, but the editor started bitching to the teacher as if I was the problem. I have always heard that White America posses a glass ceiling for non-white Americans. This is one of several classes I have attended where I feel like the students collaborate to cheat me out of excellent grades.
I am posting this blog today, but I have been trying to post it since Feb. 9. I wrote most of it then, but I keep forgetting to post it until now.
I am writing this in such a fashion because I strongly believe that Armageddon is coming soon. I really believe the day when good and evil will fight for control of the earth is around the corner.
P.S. The class is going much smoother. I really believe it is because I have missed the deadline for a blog. Funny thing, I even forgot the day my appointment was on. Now, I don’t know how I am doing in the class. Luckily, the teacher is really cool. I will certainly try to make up the work on blogs and videos.
Best Regards,

Com 426

If you are thinking of taking Com 426, go for it. It is a great class. You will learn how to write a news article from a professional. The teacher is really good and really willing to help.
Don’t take Com 328 and Com 426 together. You will be doing too much writing and a lot of reading. Also, Com 315 (Photojournalism) is a great class to take before Com 426. It will teach you how to take pictures like a professional.

The cleveland Stater Class

I really like this class. It gives me the freedom to write and grow at really convenient times. They give you an electronic key The Cleveland Stater room, and you can come and go at all types of hours.
I can come and write whenever I choose to is the greatest thing about this class. Another great thing about Com 426 is the teacher. He is very helpful and very pleasant. He is one of the very few teachers who are willing to help you because he or she cares about your performance.

Religious Insight

Here is the poem I promised. If you are into religion and you are a righteous person, you will love it. I wrote the following poem when I was attending Tri-C.
I am still depressed because I have a load of work to do, but that is life. Enjoy the poem! Later.
Best Regards,
I Do Tell
Their secret I do tell
For them to stay alive is to deceive
For the people all move about like snails
One would do good to pack-up and sail
For longevity in Hell is hard o conceive
Their secret I do tell
It all started when Adam fell
But, late at night they do grieve
For the people all move about like snails
Not your home you do sell
Stole it from Adam one does perceive
Their secret I do tell
His bad deeds are long like a tail
Hold on to your hat, God will send soldiers to relieve
For the people all move about like snails
Put plugs in your ears for he shall wail
Fire and brimstone is just dessert one does believe
Their secret I do tell
For the people all move about like snails

Online Diary

I have been very busy lately. This semester I will have to turn in about 24 papers. That is a lot of writing. On top of that, I obligated to interview several people as reference for 10 news articles.
Nevertheless, I am starting to like writing. I can see it getting a lot easier. If you read enough, writing becomes a natural and easy process.
I never thought that I would be playing around with words like this. Until I started back to college, I only completed like third or fourth grade. So reading and writing is not a natural strong point for me.
When I first started writing back at CCC, in a marketing class, it took me eight hours to write a good short paragraph. Since I have been pursuing a degree in journalism, I can write a good article in eight hours.
I will be posting a poem I write at Tri-C. It is about religion. It is about the devil getting burned, and it’s kind of funny. If you are religious, you will probably laugh.
I really think God has a job for me to accomplish. Think the task involves the whole world. To help facilitate the job, I think I’ll start a religious news website.
I think judgment day is coming. If you want to count down with me as the editor and producer of the site, check me out. I will keep you posted on its creation.
Best Regards,
